Madison Regatta Partners with Madison Consolidated Schools for “Racing to Read” Initiative

Madison, IN – February 27, 2025 – The Madison Regatta is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Madison Consolidated Schools (MCS) to launch Racing to Read, an exciting literacy program designed to encourage students to develop a love for reading while celebrating the spirit of racing.

Through Racing to Read, students in Madison Consolidated Schools will be challenged to reach reading goals set by their teachers. Those who complete the challenge will be rewarded with free admission to the 2025 Madison Regatta & Roostertail Music Festival, along with exclusive
opportunities to engage with race teams and drivers.

Kyle Bipes, President of the Madison Regatta, emphasized the importance of giving back to the community and inspiring young minds. “The Madison Regatta has always been about more than just racing—it’s about bringing our community together. Through ‘Racing to Read,’ we’re combining the excitement of hydroplane racing with the power of literacy, encouraging our students to hit the throttle on their education,” said Bipes. “We hope this program inspires kids to develop a lifelong love of reading while
building even more excitement for Regatta weekend.”

The program will run throughout the school year, with special incentives and recognitions for students who go above and beyond their reading goals. Educators at MCS are enthusiastic about the program’s potential to motivate students and create a fun, engaging connection between reading and real-world experiences.

“Reading is the foundation for success, and we are always looking for innovative ways to make literacy fun for our students,” said MCS superintendent Teresa Brown. “Partnering with the Madison Regatta allows us to tie reading into a beloved community tradition, making this
initiative even more meaningful.”

The Racing to Read program will officially kick off this spring, with additional details on participation and rewards to be shared with students and parents in the coming weeks.
