2020 Madison Regatta & Covid-19

2020 Madison Regatta & Covid-19

  • March 30, 2020

FROM: Matt True, President, Madison Regatta Inc.

As we approach the 2020 Regatta season we are working closely with the City of Madison and the State of Indiana, following guidelines to ensure we are doing our part to keep everyone safe and healthy.

July is still 4 months away and it is unclear what changes will be mandated, and what other states may restrict along the journey from the West Coast to Madison. We are talking with H-1 Unlimited, Grand Prix Americas, Concert promotors, Bands, working with Visit Madison, the Jefferson County Tourism Board, other festivals and the Mayor’s office to look at alternative dates. In the coming weeks we will know more about what dates might be open should we have a date change. Once we get further guidance from the City and the State, we will provide further updates as soon as possible to keep everyone informed.

Madison Regatta Inc and the Roostertail Music Festival are hopeful life will return to normal soon. We wish you all health and happiness as we all adjust to a new normal. Order carryout, tip those who serve you, thank the city workers, and say a friendly hello to everyone you see. We are all in this together and we will come out of this a stronger better community.

God Speed

Respectfully Submitted,

Matt True

Do you know yet if there will be a fireworks display or parade this year

The fireworks display and parade are both City of Madison events. We have bee told that they are planning to have the fireworks but we have not heard anything about a parade. You can check the Madison Courier website for more information and we will also try to update our website with information when we receive it.
