Dave Villwock, Greg Hopp and Jeff Bernard were to make heat 3B one of the best heats of the day however Bernard could not get started and was not able to answer the gun.

Once again two Indiana teams faced each other as the U3 Miss Chrysler Jeep and the U6 Oh Boy! Oberto were placed in the same heat.

Only two boats answered the call for heat 2C. Greg Hopp and the Mirage Racing team U100, and Dr Ken Muscatel in the U2.25 Superior racing were the only boats able to get to a planning attitude.

Crew chief Matt Gregory told us that the propeller blade broke, ruining the shaft and it did break the gearbox.

The Ohio River with the help of Mother Nature's rains throughout Northern Kentucky this past week stopped the Madison Regatta Indiana Governor's Cup final day of qualifying in its track Saturday.

Even though organizers of the Madison Regatta Indiana Governor’s Cup are considering bringing in the FAA to monitor flying boats, all 10 ABRA teams that will start qualifying on the Ohio River’s Bill Cantrell Memorial Race Course Friday morning really do plan to keep their boats on the water.

It is official, the new Oh Boy! Oberto boat will be christened at 3 pm, Wednesday, June 27th at the judge's stand on the Bill Cantrell Memorial Race Course on the Ohio River in the Madison Regatta Pit area.
