Heat 1A  - Joe McCord

Four boats answered the call for the first heat here on the Ohio River for this years Indiana Governors Cup. The U16 Miss Elam Plus driven by Dave Villwock, The U6 Oh Boy! Oberto the hometown favorite driven by Steve David. Both Ted Porters entries, the U-1 formulaboats.com and the U5 formulaboats.com, the 1 driven by Mike Allen who is driving this weekend with a broken thumb and the 5 driven by Jeff Bernard. The Oberto, a brand new boat this season came out of the first turn in first place with the rest of the field trailing. Jeff Bernard was in second as they came through the second lap. David taking the brand new boat out in front. The Miss Elam Plus looked to be under power as he struggled to keep the boat in third place. Going into the final lap a ten boat lead for David in the Oberto as Jeff Bernard settled for second place position.  It ended up with the U-6 Oh Boy! Oberto in first, second to Jeff Bernard in the formulaboats.com U5 which had an N2 violation, thereby loosing his points but not his position . Third went to the U16 Miss Elam Plus and fourth went to the U1 formulaboats.com.
