Heat 1C – Joe McCord

Another three boat heat for the fans here on the river bank in Madison, Indiana. The U10 Miss Ahearn Rentals driven by rookie David Bryant. Jimmy King driving Ed Cooper Jr’s U3 Miss Chrysler Jeep, and the U25 Superior Racing driven by Dr Ken Muscatel. The cat and mouse chase started prior to the start as Bryant and King both chasing each other around  Before the  start Muscatel had a close call as he went to ground zero on the engine about 1:45 before the start. Lane one was taken by the 25 lane two went to King in the 3 and lane three went to the rookie Bryant. Coming across the start finish line all drivers were on the button as they powered to the first turn. King took it through the first turn and led the rookie down the backstretch. Bryant caught King in turn number two as they both roared down the front stretch. Bryant was on the heels of King all the way down the back stretch by ten boat lengths. Dr Muscatel was struggling to keep his boat running. The piston packer was hard to get by as King kept Bryant on his hip then suddenly Bryant went straight in the first turn and evidently had some kind of equipment failure. It went this way, The U3 Miss Chrysler Jeep was first, second went to Dr Ken Muscatel, who had a flagrant N2 violation, and a DNF to the U10 Miss Ahearn Rental.
