Heat 2A – Joe McCord

Oh Boy! Oberto coming off a first heat win was to face another fast heat with the U-3 Miss Chrysler Jeep and the U-1 formulaboats.com. The U10 suffering from a damaged prop in the last flight of heats was not to answer the call for this heat. Just before the start of the heat the U1 formulaboats.com was under the gun to get their boat in the water and on a planning attitude. With about 2:00 the U1 pulled away from the dock. An all Indiana based team heat was to take place. The U6 was first across the line leading all the way around the first lap. The hard charging Jimmy King was giving Steve David all he could handle as they raced with one rooster tail between them. The formulaboats.com trailed. Into the second lap the Oberto was still leading as Chrysler Jeep was right on his hip. With one more lap to go David pulled away from King to take the win for the second heat of the day. Second to King and a distant third to Mike Allen.
