(Madison, IN) One of the Madison Regatta festival highlights is the July 4th weekend holiday Fireworks Show. The generosity of Madison area businesses and civic organizations make the Madison Regatta, and accompanying festival events possible. Madison Regatta Incorporated is once again pleased to announce that the American Legion Post # 9 in Madison has elected, for the ninth straight year, to sponsor the July 4th Holiday Fireworks extravaganza. The show is scheduled to begin Saturday evening, July 4th, 2009 at approx. 10pm Eastern Daylight Time.

According to Geno Schneider, Commander of Madison Post # 9, "The American Legion members are pleased to be able to support the community and the Madison Regatta. This will be the ninth straight year celebrating our sponsorship, and we look forward to a fantastic Zambelli fireworks show. We are especially proud to support this event, and provide entertainment that can be enjoyed by families and friends. This is also a great way to salute our troops, and thank them for providing the security and freedom we enjoy today".

Crystal McHargue, President of the 2009 Madison Regatta added to Schneider's comments saying, "I am very pleased that the Madison American Legion Post # 9 has again stepped up to sponsor the fireworks show. I would like to thank Commander Schneider, the Legion Board, and Legion members for their continued support".

The American Legion Post # 9 Fireworks Show is one of the most highly anticipated events on the Regatta calendar. This beautiful display of sound and color draws friends and families to the banks of the Ohio River in Madison to celebrate America's Independence Day in grand style.
