ADMISSION WRISTBANDS ON SALE STARTING JUNE 2ND FOR REGATTA WEEKEND

Madison, IN – Madison Regatta Incorporated officials announced today the admission wristbands for the 2010 LUCAS OIL Indiana Governor’s Cup Madison Regatta will be on sale starting Wednesday, June 2nd at several locations in the Madison Indiana area.  Wristbands are valid for all three days July 2, 3, and 4. As always, children ten and under are admitted free of charge.

Wristbands may be purchased at the Madison Regatta office on Vaughn Drive between the hours of 9:00 am– 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Wristbands may also be purchased at the following locations: American Legion Post # 9; The Bottle Shop; Cork-N-Bottle; CVS Pharmacy – Hilltop & Hanover; Fillin’ Station Liquors; Hanover Liquor Store; Kroger; Madison Area Convention & Visitors Bureau; all MainSource Bank locations; Northside Liquors, Riverside Produce in Milton; all River Valley Financial Bank branch locations, and from the following service club: Lions Club.

“The Regatta Committees are hard at work pparing for this year’s event, and we are excited to welcome race fans to Indiana’s largest lawn party,” commented 2010 Madison Regatta psident Crystal McHargue. The racing excitement takes place July 2-4 on the banks of the Ohio River in Historic Madison Indiana. Madison is the first of five stops on the 2010 H1 Unlimited racing circuit.  Unlimited Heats sponsored by Budweiser, Clifty Engineering & Tool Company, Midwest Tube Mills, Morgan Foods, and Time Warner Cable, promises high speed racing excitement.  The Unlimited Hydroplane “Pole Position” Qualifications set for Friday July 2, also add to the non-stop action-packed race weekend, all for a great price.

A new addition to the Lucas Oil Indiana Governor’s Cup Madison Regatta Race Schedule is a second class of boats (Grand National / National Modifieds) sponsored by the Vectren Corporation.  These limited class inboards run on automotive powered big block V8 engines and are sure to bring the noise and excitement when racing on the mighty Ohio River.

Other events occurring race weekend along the riverfront include the American Legion Post # 9 Fireworks Show set for Saturday, July 3 at approximately 10:00 pm and breathtaking Grote Industries Air Shows performed by local Madisonian Cliff Robinson on Saturday & Sunday, July 3 & 4.  Music abounds at Fireman’s

Park with the Music on the River program, co-sponsored by Arvin Sango, Big O Tires, Duke Energy, Ghostnote Music & Northside Liquors starting on Wednesday, June 30th and continuing through Saturday, July 3rd.  For a list of music events and bands, just go to the Regatta’s website at www.madisonregatta.com.

 

The Music on the River program for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday require an admission wristband or a $5.00 limited-edition, collectable race boat button that can be purchased at the gate. Each night includes a different collectable button used for admission, for those that do not have a Regatta wristband. Saturday night activities are free of charge.

Special seating for viewing the 2010 LUCAS OIL Indiana Governor’s Cup Madison Regatta includes a VIP Tent area, Hospitality Tent area, Tarp Space areas, and RV Parking to name a few.  Pit Tours, sponsored by Comfort Inn will be conducted on Friday and Saturday, while Cold Pit Passes can be purchased for $20.00. Collector edition 60th Anniversary Madison Regatta Race Programs will also be available for $5.00 to keep as souvenirs.

The Regatta accepts VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Check, cash, or money order, are also accepted. If paying by credit card, please note the type of card and include the account number, as well as expiration date. All purchases will be ready for pick-up at the will-call trailer located on West Street between Vaughn Drive and First Street. No orders will be shipped or mailed.
