Formulaboats.com names new team manager

Precision Performance Engineering, L.L.C. is pleased to announce the promotion of Mark Hooton to Team Manager for the 2008 FormulaBoats.com Racing team.

A life-long fan of the sport, Hooton began working with the U-2 Primestar team in 1997 and has held various crew positions with increasing responsibility since that time. He has also covered the sport for Unlimiteds Detroit and the Unlimited NewsJournal as a writer and photographer. He joined the U-7 www.FormulaBoats.com racing team in 2006 and moved to the U-5 in 2007.


Hooton also brings management experience from 23 years at General Motors, where he has been involved in Product Engineering, Purchasing, Supplier Quality and Program Management. He is currently leading activities for the launch of the new Corvette ZR1 and Cadillac CTS-V. Mark attended Hillsdale College and received both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Central Michigan University.

"Hydroplane racing has been important to my family since the days when Gar Wood and Kaye Don raced on the Detroit River", says Hooton. "I'm proud to be in to a leadership position with the FormulaBoats.com team. I plan to continue with and expand on the tradition of excellence that Mike Weber and Ted Porter developed for this team".
